Old projects
Things I built in high school and early college
Almost all of these are now down. They were a lot of fun to build though, and I'm happy to chat about any of them, please reach out.
Favourites
Read.gift 2019
A way to support people by sending them books instead of money; I built it when Patreon wouldn't let Indian users sign up. Built in two weeks, it went semi-viral on Twitter, got 250+ books gifted around the world, and I ended up talking about it at Stripe's 2019 all-hands in San Francisco.
Lyrics.rip 2019
Generates fake lyrics in the style of your favourite artists, using Markov chains. They're suspiciously convincing and usually very funny. It was #3 Product of the Day on Product Hunt.
I-am.club
Lets your Twitter friends write your bio.
Mathe Carlo 2020
An interactive essay on the Monte Carlo method: how throwing random darts can teach you about probability (and estimate pi). Code.
Skrrt 2019
A REPL for music. Write a JSON filter, and it turns it into a custom mix of Spotify recommendations you can export as a playlist. Built with Next.js and the Spotify API.
Hunt 2019
A scavenger hunt with the things around you. It asks you to find an object, and you show it to your webcam or phone camera; an image classifier in the browser checks if you got it. I wrote about how to build it here.
Hacks
Color Space 2019
Removes solid backgrounds from images in the browser, comparing colours in L*a*b space with Delta E so it cuts out what a human would. Write-up.
Santafy
Puts a santa hat on your face.
Bouncing DVD
Is more fun to watch than it seems.
4ty2 Chat
A realtime, ephemeral chat.
Kron 2019
Lets developers schedule webhooks for later, so apps on Replit or Glitch could run tasks even while asleep. Built with Node, Express and MongoDB.
